Welcome to 2025!

Fellow Lions and all participants in the Lions Eye Health Program,

Welcome to 2025 and I sincerely hope you all had a most enjoyable festive season break.

Over the past few years our Children’s Vision Screening program has expanded beyond our wildest expectations. For 2024 I set a national screening target of 12,000 but due to the hard work and commitment of all involved, we were able to screen almost 15,000 children. I cannot begin to express how proud I am of this outcome.

For 2025 I have once again set the target of 12,000 children being screened. I have retained this target figure as opposed to setting a higher target as I consider it a good time to consolidate our achievements from the past few years. If we once again exceed the target, then congratulations all round.

We anticipate that early in 2025 a new range of LEHP marketing products will be available to all clubs and members including a “Roley” lapel badge. Details will be provided as and when these items become available.

Enquiries re our program continue to be received and followed up. Some training will soon be undertaken in New Zealand and planning is in the early stages for visits to Norfolk Island, King Island off the Tasmanian coast, Carnarvon in the far North of WA and Thursday Island in the Torres Strait.
